San Juan Islands Fishing Report

Winter fishing has been hot!!! Gather your warm clothes and come out to take advantage of the great fishing that should hold out until the season closes on April 15th.

Halibut season will begin May 1st, 2010. Ling Cod season also begins May 1st. Last year was fantastic for Ling cod fishing. Along with a variety of bottom fish, salmon season will be starting July 1st. We anticipate another good season with Kings, Silvers, and Sockeye. Chum Salmon will open in October.

Be sure to make reservations early. Prime time fills up fast!

We are currently booking trips for the 2010 season.

Blackmouth, juvenile King Salmon, open now through April 15th.
May 1st - Halibut Starts
May 1st - Ling Cod
July 1st - Salmon season re-opens

October 1st - Chum Salmon

The winter King (Blackmouth) salmon fishing season which is currently open goes until April 15th and has been the best in recent years with limits on a regular basis. This usually means we should have a very good King season starting July 1st. Halibut will open May 1st.

We had a great season last year, with several King Salmon over 30lbs caught even late in the season. The best days go fast to book early. Looking forward to a great 2010 season. Hope to talk to you soon to plan our adventure,

Jim.
