San Juan Islands Fish Report

Winter fishing has been hot!!! Gather your warm clothes and come out to take advantage of the great fishing that should hold out until the season closes on April 15th.

Halibut season will begin on April 9th, 2008. Ling Cod season begins May 1st. Last year was fantastic for Ling cod fishing. Along with a variety of bottom fish, salmon season will be starting July 1st. We anticipate another good season with Kings, Silvers, and Sockeye. Chum salmon will open October.

Be sure to make reservations early. Prime time fills up fast!

We are currently booking trips for the 2008 season.

February 1st - Blackmouth (thru April 15th)
April 9th - Halibut Starts
May 1st - Ling Cod + bottom fish
July 1st - King Salmon (The Big Guys)

October 1st - Chum salmon

The winter King (Blackmouth) salmon fishing season which started Feb 1st, and goes to April 15th, has been the best in recent years, with limits on almost every trip. This usually means we should have a very good King season starting July 1st. This year, with Halibut opening April 9th, we will have one week to catch both salmon and halibut!

We had a great season last year, with several King Salmon over 40lbs caught even late in the season. The best days go fast so book early. Looking forward to a great 2008 season.
